The Description of Condemning Transgression

Al-Haaj al-Musnad Abu Muhamad Abu Bakr Ibn Muhamad Ibn Abi Bakr Ibn Abdil Wasi’ al-Harawi reported to us on the fourth of Rabil Awal in the year 668 Hijri, and he mentioned the chain to them up until to Ansari, he said, Humaid narrated to me from Anas (Radi Allahu Anhu) that

Allah’s Messenger (Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said, “Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, “O Allah’s Messenger (Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?” The Prophet (Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said, “By preventing him from oppressing others.”

Narrated by al-Bukhari from Uthman Ibn Abi Shayba from Hushaim. And also narrated (Akhrajnahu)* by Tirmidhi from Muhamad Ibn Hatim from al-Ansari and he said, “Hasan Sahih”

And it has been reported by ash-Shaikh Shamsudin Ibn Abi Umar and I read it to him: Abul Yaman al-Kindi reported it to us and he mentioned it.

He was born in the year 594 Hijri. And he died in Rajab in the year 683 Hijri.

[UNDERSTANDING FROM THE HADITH]

1. The narrator of the hadith, meaning the companion, knows the understanding of his narration more than anyone else, and the narrator’s commentary will be given preference over all other commentaries.

2. Helping the oppressed is the sign of the people of faith, on the condition that you have the ability, otherwise it is necessary to hate the oppressor.

3. If you do not understand something during a discussion or have difficulty in understanding someone’s phrases, or the phrases are unclear then you should ask them in detail and elaborate in order to eliminate any doubts.

4. Whoever does not know about a particular issue should ask the scholar about it.

5. The writer of a book understands his own phrases better than anyone else.

6. It is necessary for every Muslim to command the good and forbid the evil according to their ability.

7. See hadith no.4 for the biography of the narrator of this hadith.
